About TREVER
Conservative LeaderSHIP
Colonel (Ret.) Trever J. Nehls has dedicated his entire adult life to service, to his country, his community, and his fellow Texans.
*This campaign is not affiliated with the Department of Defense or any Military Service.
Trever began his military career in 1988 as an Infantryman in the United States Army and rose to the rank of Colonel over 33 years of service. Trever commanded Soldiers at the company, battalion, and brigade levels, with multiple deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. He understands what it means to lead under pressure, make tough decisions, and be accountable for the people who depend on him. He holds a master’s degree in Military Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, a master’s in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville.
Trever’s commitment to service continued at home in Texas. In 1993, he began serving the residents of Fort Bend County with the Sugar Land Police Department. He later served as Constable for Fort Bend County Precinct 4 from 2013 to 2020, leading a team of law enforcement professionals dedicated to integrity, professionalism, and public safety. His guiding principle has always been simple and clear: Service Before Self — doing what is right for the people he serves, not what is politically convenient.
Trever is a longtime resident of Texas’ 22nd Congressional District, where he and his wife, Kerri, are raising their three children: Madison, Wyatt, and Parker. As a husband, father, veteran, and law enforcement leader, he understands the concerns of families in Fort Bend, Brazoria and Harris Counties — safer communities, a stronger economy, secure borders, and a federal government that respects their values and hard-earned tax dollars.
Texas’ 22nd Congressional District is at a crossroads, facing serious challenges from border security and crime to inflation, federal overreach, and uncertainty for small businesses and working families. Trever brings real-world experience in command, crisis management, budgeting, and long-term planning. He knows that strong borders, safe neighborhoods, a stable economy, and fidelity to the Constitution are not talking points; they are the foundation of life in TX-22. He believes this district deserves a representative who will put service over self, principle over politics, and people over special interests.
